The Swindon juniors had a wonderful time finally competing against other clubs and themselves. Over the weekend we had a total of 14 teams playing some lovely hockey and implementing all the skills and tactics developed over the season. The u8 played on mini pitches, superbly organised by Linda (Dutchy) and John. The u10 (pictured) had Gemma and Adriana efficiently managing the teams whilst the day before, the u12 took on board advice from Tom, Gav and Adriana.
There were some superb goals resulting from team link up play or individual performances and some super blocks and reaction saves from the goalkeepers, Toby, Ben and Violet. Reverse stick passes, controlled lifted balls and strong pushes were evident throughout. All the Swindon teams were victorious, winning their age groups. Infact, in the u12's the only match the two Swindon teams didn't win, were against themselves 3-3!
Most importantly, the players were buzzing from the competition and smiles were seen on all faces - players and 'spectators' alike. Thanks also goes to Angela, Steve and Doug for supervising and officiating.
